Company History
Our parent company, B.K. Teachout Investigations was founded in 1981 in Flint, Michigan by Bernard K. Teachout, a former Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputy. The company served the greater Flint area, providing uniformed security officers and private investigators.
In 1995 Bernard Teachout retired and sold the company to Joseph R. Cozart. Cozart started with the company in 1985 as a security officer, working his way up through the business into the position of President. Since that time the company has continued to expand not only throughout the State of Michigan but into all 50 States, Canada and Europe.
As one of the largest privately held contract security companies headquartered in Michigan, Teachout Security Solutions/Great Northern Sentry Security features a trained and professional guard force dedicated to serving the security needs of our valued customers. Our credentialed leadership team is Board Certified in Security, Safety, and Emergency Management serving as a resource for your operations success.
